Asteria Edge Monitoring Solution does not require costly on-premise infrastructure. It is a compact, low-power device that fits on a shelf without extra hardware needed and with an install time of under 10 minutes.

Asteria can run edge analytics and reduce the strain on the network as well as bring down latency. Asteria comes in three configurations supporting a different number of NVR channels/cameras, which can help you make sure you have the right configuration to fit the size of your network and security needs of your business.

Is video analyzed on the Asteria or the cloud?

Answer

The video analytics process is conducted within the Asteria device itself. We do not transfer the video stream from the device to the cloud. Internet connection is not needed, as the events can be stored locally on the Asteria edge solution. However, alarms and notifications can be sent to the cloud. Additionally, users have the option to forward these alerts elsewhere or retain them directly on the device. As a result, Asteria functions effectively even in situations where the Internet connection is intermittent.

What are the VMS integrations that are possible with Asteria edge monitoring solution?

Asteria edge device can send alarms in 4 different ways: - Scylla Cloud Dashboard - Custom HTTP endpoint - Email alarms via custom SMTP - TCP/UDP message to platforms like VMSs Also, Asteria edge security solution can act as a server filtering endpoint, so while using Scylla plugins with integrations like Genetec, ExacqVision, Milestone, and NX Witness you can filter alarms locally on the box.

What IO interfaces does Asteria edge monitoring solution have?

Asteria edge device has all interfaces that a small PC would have, including a few USBs and an Ethernet LAN. The first ones are needed during the setup. Only Ethernet LAN that connects the device to cameras/VMS network is needed during operation. Asteria S and M modifications have alarm inputs and outputs to integrate with alarm systems and access control.
