Sentinel Management System Now Supports Scylla Asteria Edge Devices
AUSTIN, TX, USA and YORK, UK — August 29, 2022 — Sentinel management system from Monitor Computer Systems has completed its integration with Scylla Asteria video analytics edge devices.
Sentinel supports the Scylla Asteria edge devices that use firmware version 3.5.0 and above. The device analyzes RTSP image streams at an installation and creates actionable alerts based on advanced Scylla’s AI algorithms. Alarms including an .mp4 video attachment highlighting the detected activity are sent from the device to a Sentinel Generic Line SMTP line handler where the events are processed and raise Sentinel alarm events.
"Monitor Computer Systems is pleased to announce the completion of an integration of the Scylla edge analytics Asteria device into Sentinel. This system extends the range of analytics events to include the detection of weapons and violence, which are unique features in our experience. Scylla also offers a post-receipt Sentinel integration for cloud-based analytics service which can detect human activity and reduce false alarms," said Michael Askew, Monitor Computer Systems Managing Director.
Scylla Asteria features a compact, low-power consumption edge device. It lets you supercharge your camera network with advanced AI video analytics that allows you to perform real-time facial recognition and up to 99% false alarm filtering, and detect weapons, fights, slips and falls, visible smoke and fire, and more physical threats. Depending on the configuration of your Asteria device, you can power a number of cameras in your network with a certain type of AI video analytics.
"We are excited that Scylla Asteria edge monitoring solution is now integrated with Sentinel. This integration brings premium-quality video analytics capabilities to all Sentinel customers. Scylla Asteria can operate in a closed-loop network without Internet connection, making sure you have 24/7 situational awareness," said Ashot Harutyunyan, Scylla’s CTO. "It can effectively run Scylla’s leading solutions such as gun detection, smoke & fire detection, industrial temperature monitoring, perimeter intrusion detection, and aggressive behavior detection, among others."
Scylla has already released a number of powerful integrations with Sentinel to make sure more users and clients of Monitor Computer Systems can benefit from advanced AI-powered video analytics to enhance their security and improve surveillance.
